Motion Picture Explorers is an educational non-profit aimed at empowering young people in the Greater Louisville Area through the magic of filmmaking. Our mission is to improve protective factors for resilience in 14 to 18-year-olds by fostering growth and leadership.
We believe in a co-ownership approach where young Explorers maintain full control of their film projects, and adult mentors serve exclusively in supportive roles.
Explorers will learn all aspects of film crew operations, including the terms and lingo used, how a real set is run, and the expectations for each department and role. They will gain expertise, and partner with other local non-profits to create visual narratives that entertain, educate, and foster community cooperation.
We are creators and creatives dedicated to teaching kids professional filmmaking skills to tell their stories from their perspectives. Our team includes experienced film and television professionals committed to mentoring the next generation of filmmakers.
